Resource Centres

CMWA's Pregnancy and Childbirth Centres provide a unique and welcoming environment for couples seeking empowered pregnancy, birth and parenting experiences.  Here we hold workshops and courses, parent groups and an opportunity for you to speak with a midwife to discuss your aspirations and concerns in a confidential space.  CMWA has Centres in North Fremantle, and coming soon, Joondalup.  For easy reference view our Contacts Page

Midwifery Advice
While you are sifting through your birthing options, our midwife can act as an "expert sounding board", wherever you may be planning to birth. You can contact our office Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm to speak to a midwife about any issues and concerns about pregnancy childbirth and early parenting on 9430 6882.

Library Resources

At North Fremantle CMWA offers expectant couples and new parents a wide range of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs to guide and inform the journey into parenthood and beyond.  We are also looking to develop a "mobile library" system where women can access resources from Joondalup in a similar fashion to an inter-library loan, with about a week's turnaround in getting requested books from  North Fremantle to Joondalup.  You need to be a member of CMWA to loan items.

De-briefing Birth

Giving birth is a powerful experience, and sometimes women and/or couples may need an opportunity to talk this through.  You can contact our midwife, Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, on 9430 6882 to talk through what happened and how you feel.  You may also want to talk to other women.  Our Mums Bubs and Midwives groups can offer a great forum to discuss your birth.

Breastfeeding Support

Maintaining breastfeeding after birth sometimes requires some extra support.  Our midwives can provide lactation advice Monday to Friday 9-4pm.  Over the phone consultations are free, however if you would like more one on one time you can book at appointment for $40.  Our breastfeeding workshops are $30 - see our Workshops page for more details.
